Bridging traditional care and health coaching to restore your energy

True recovery means restoring your whole self: mind, body, and spirit. Our lifestyle medicine services go beyond standard medical treatment by integrating traditional care with practical, science-based coaching. We partner with you to develop sustainable healthy habits that are essential for long-term well-being after a neurological injury, empowering you to manage stress, restore your focus, and reclaim your energy.

We build every plan around six connected habits: sleep, nutrition, stress management, movement, avoiding substances that work against your recovery, and staying connected to people who understand what you are going through. Together we set clear, SMART goals that become sustainable habits, supporting neuroplasticity, your brain's ability to rebuild its own connections, for a full and lasting recovery.

How we build habits with you

Three ways we support sustainable change

Individualized health coaching for sleep, nutrition, and stress

Sleep disturbances and nutritional deficiencies can severely hinder brain recovery. We build personalized strategies to improve your sleep hygiene and customize your nutrition to your individual overall health status, using both as powerful, non-pharmacological tools that support neuroplasticity, stabilize your energy, and sharpen your focus.

Neurological injury can also affect mood, emotional regulation, and stress. We help you understand the brain-body connection through therapeutic coaching on principles of cognitive therapy, plus medication management where it is appropriate, so mood swings, irritability, and stress stay manageable instead of standing in the way of your progress.

Supportive group sessions in English, Español, and Português

You do not have to navigate your healing journey alone. In group sessions, you can talk with others who understand your experience, in a structured, inclusive, and supportive environment where you can share, listen, and learn. Sometimes the best care plans come from meaningful connection.

Sessions run weekly for six weeks, then once every two months to keep that connection going as your recovery continues. We offer group sessions in English, Español, and Português, so care stays culturally competent for our Chicago community.

Building the habits that support long-term recovery

Regular movement, paced to where you are in recovery, and staying clear of substances that work against healing, such as tobacco and recreational drugs, are as much a part of your treatment as any medication. We talk through these habits with you honestly and without judgment.

Recovery is a unique journey for everyone. We continuously evaluate your progress and adjust your plan, teaching you how your brain, body, and daily habits work together, so the changes you make outlast your time in our care.

Questions about lifestyle medicine and group sessions

How is lifestyle medicine part of my recovery plan?

Lifestyle medicine is a core part of your whole-person healing plan. We coach you on sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, and avoiding substances that work against your recovery, using therapeutic coaching on principles of cognitive therapy alongside medication management where it is needed. Together we set clear, SMART goals that become sustainable habits, supporting neuroplasticity and long-term well-being.

How often do group sessions meet, and what languages are they offered in?

Group sessions run weekly for six weeks, then once every two months to keep that connection going. We offer sessions in English, Español, and Português, so you can take part in the language you are most comfortable in.

Does health coaching replace therapy or in-house counseling?

We do not provide in-house physical therapy or counseling. What we do provide is therapeutic coaching on principles of cognitive therapy, plus medication management, delivered by Dr. Kopp as part of your rehabilitation care plan. When you need hands-on care, such as physical therapy, balance work, or counseling for mood, we refer you to trusted partners and stay involved in your care.
